Oprah Self Love Beauty

Oprah has always been one of my idols. She is an amazing woman. However, we all make mistakes and this one created a huge movement among women around the word. In this magazine, it gave women advice on a crop top….but ‘If and only IF” they had a flat stomach. The O Magazine ‘advice’ was body shaming women who did not have a ‘flat stomach’. I don’t know about you but I don’t many women who define their stomachs as ‘flat’.

This ‘advice’ per say opened more than I think anyone thought; honestly it was one movement that amazed me even more about how ever time society tries to bring women down all we are trying to do is prove them wrong.

This article made headlines and the movement made even more. Women across the globe at every different size have been showing off just how they look in a crop top and how you don’t need a per-say “flat stomach” to rock one of them!

One woman responded with saying in her captain:

“Surprised to see this level of #bodyshaming in Oprah magazine. The feature is about women feeling healthy. Part of health is self-esteem and that’s intrinsically connected to body image. Stop telling women what they CAN’T wear. We can wear and do and be ANYTHING that makes us feel strong, powerful, passionate and in charge of our own destinies. I hope young women and women of any age don’t feel like they’re restricted by editorially imposed fashion “rules.” The only rules are there are no rules. Wear what you love, what makes you feel confident, and own it. Confidence is power, and it’s contagious.”

Now its your turn to join! Be part of the movement and show off your beautiful body. We all come in different shapes and sizes never let someone tell you what you can wear!
