“Teach girls bravery, not perfection.”

This video is just a glimpse of what women go through daily. We are raising our girls to be perfect, not to be brave. Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls Who Code, has taken up the charge to socialize young girls to take risks and learn to program — two skills they need to move society forward. I envy this woman and this initiative. Self Love Beauty, is only part of this project.

To truly innovate, we cannot leave behind half of our population, Saujani shares:

“I need each of you to tell every young woman you know to be comfortable with imperfection.”

We need to teach them now. We need teach them to be brave in everything they do and that we will love them with all their imperfections. We will love them not because they are perfect but because they are courageous.

Self Love Beauty is committed to being part of this movement but it takes more than just our writers, it takes all our readers coming together. Share our brave stories with us at selflovebeauty@gmail.com, we would love to feature how you have been brave, this movement can impact many lives.
